MP FOR Thornbury and Yate Luke Hall took 150 Yate residents to Parliament earlier this week.

On Monday, August 13 three coaches set out from Yate as they prepared to take a tour of Westminster.

The scheme, titled 'South Gloucestershire comes to Parliament' has seen residents from Wickwar, Wick, Falfield, Frampton Cotterell, Hawkesbury Upton, Rangeworthy, Iron Acton, Cromhall and Coalpit Heath take the trip down the M4.

Mr Hall himself was pleased with the trip, stating the importance of the community in the area.

"The day was a great success," he said.

"I always come away from the visits appreciating and being grateful that we have such an engaged community here in Yate and South Gloucestershire.

"It’s our neighbours and residents who really make the trips so special and I’m looking forwarding to carrying on until as many as people as possible have had this opportunity."

MS Jennifer Jones, a resident who went on the trip stated how much she 'enjoyed' the experience.

She told Mr Hall: "I appreciated your affording me the opportunity to visit the House of Commons today.

"It was truly an amazing experience and one which I enjoyed immensely.  The whole day was just wonderful from start to finish."
