MALMESBURY School are celebrating another fantastic results day.

This year's A-level results day is the second best in the school's history, having achieved its best ever results last year.

This is the second year of the increasingly challenging linear A-levels, making the results even more impressive.

67& of all grades achieved by students at the school were grades between A* and B, whilst 88% of students achieved grades between A* and C.

Malmesbury School headteacher Tim Gilson said: "We are delighted with this year's A-level results.

"They are the second best set of results in the school's history following on from last year's exceptional results and they reflect the new more challenging exam course in almost all subjects.

"These results are testament to our very hard working and determined students and our superb staff."

"All the staff at the school work incredibly hard to support and inspired our students and they are able to draw on their deep subject expertise and considerable experience to ensure that all our students make excellent progress.

"15 of our students achieved a clean sweep of A* or A grades and many more exceeded their predictions.

"We are very proud of all our students who are now looking forward to going to a wide range of excellent universities and employers and we wish them all the very best."

Friends Grace Hart, Jessica Shaw and Victoria Gordon, were just some of the many who got into their first choice university.

Grace Hart said: "It was really nerve-racking.

"I opened my results on Ucas this morning and knew I got into Exeter to study Politics.

"I got 2 A*s and and A, it was about what I was expected so I’m really happy.

Jessica Shaw told us: "I was a bit nervous.

"But I didn’t really care what I got when I saw on Ucas that I got into the University of Southampton to study Medicine.

"It was my 1st choice so I am really happy with that."

Victoria Gordon said of her results: "I also opened my results on Ucas this morning and got into Birmingham University to study law.

"I needed 3 As to get in and I got 2A*s and an A.

"The teachers at the school were really supportive."
