Firefighters helped rescue a dog from a fire in Wickwar.

Crews from Yate, Thornbury, Temple and Kingswood attended the incident in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, August 21).

The fire involved the ground and first floor of the end terrace property and spread to the roof void.

Jets and high pressure hose reels were used to extinguish the fire and prevent it spreading to neighbouring properties.

Crews remained at the scene damping down and monitoring for hot spots.

A dog was missing during the incident but was found by firefighters and reunited with its owner.

The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.
