ETHEMIA bring their trademark charismatic onstage chemistry to Tetbury’s Goods Shed on Saturday, September 22.

This special show is billed as a ‘double-header’ along with rapidly rising Swindon based singer/songwriting star Rob Richings. Both are assigned to Swindon’s Crescent Records label.

Accomplished acoustic duo Ethemia (Michaela Mott and Berny Poulton) from Cirencester are promoting this appearance as part of their UK tour to promote the release of their latest EP ‘Common Ground’ produced and mastered by Damon Sawyer and released through Crescent Records.

Their distinctive persona is characterised by well observed storytelling, haunting vocals, beautiful harmonies and catchy melodies, all underpinned by great guitar riffs to render heartfelt live performances which certainly leave a mark.

In recent years Ethemia have toured extensively throughout Europe and the UK and featured on many high profile radio stations including BBC Introducing, The Gaby Roslin Show BBC London and BBC Radio 2.

They have supported a vast array of legendary artists including, The Strawbs, Curved Air, Loudon Wainwright III, Steeleye Span. And an upcoming date on this tour will see them support John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett.

Sharing the same bill is the up coming talent of Rob Richings.

Two years on after the release of his debut album, Rob is right where he wants to be as a singer, songwriter and performer.

The months of touring and playing live have seen him this Swindon local hone his craft and push his unquestioned song writing abilities to new highs.

He said: “I’ve had an amazing year. I had two theatre tours with Hazel O’Connor and Ramin Karimloo that were absolutely incredible. Then I toured with the British rockabilly guitarist Darrel Higham and although our music is totally different it was great fun.”

Rob hits the road again this autumn to launch his much anticipated new EP, ‘Lately I’ve Been Wondering’ to be released on September 28 (on Crescent Records).

“I’ve pushed the sound a bit on this latest EP, but the storylines are linked to the highs and lows of being a musician. At its best - it’s an unbeatable feeling."

The EP was recorded in Swindon with his brother James and engineer/producer Damon Sawyer.

Rob adds, “The music business continues to change all the time – but the plan is to stay true to what I believe in – simple, honest songs sung the way I sing them. It’s the only way I know how.”
