Gloucestershire Northern Senior League Division Two Dursley Town 3 Bredon 2.

WILL STEEL came off the bench to score what turned out to be the winning goal as Dursley Town defeated Bredon 3-2 after trailing 1-0 at the break.

Town manager Chris Dolbear told the Gazette: "In the first half we were waiting for something to happen rather than making something happen ourselves.

"The second half was much better - we took the initiative and dominated the game."

Dursley had plenty of possession in the first period but gave a flat performance and trailed at the interval after being caught on the break by a slick Bredon move.

However, the second half was a different kettle of fish and the hosts scored three times to turn the game around.

Antony Nash struck the equaliser on the hour when he won a block tackle with a defender twice his size and drove in a left foot shot from 20 yards.

Maz Meta then scored a fantastic goal from the corner of the penalty area to put Town in front with quarter of an hour remaining.

Bredon threatened to come back but were kept at bay by some terrific defending from Johnny Frampton, Chris Wilkins, Phil Miles and Rich Crowcombe.

At the other end, Steel had a goal ruled out for offside but finally struck the vital third on 90 minutes after being teed up by fellow substitute Steve Phillips.

A whopping eight minutes of added time allowed Bredon to pull a goal back with two minutes to go but it proved only to be a consolation strike.
