Gloucestershire County Women's League Division Two

Bradley Stoke Ladies 2 Dursley Town Ladies 1

ANY illusions Dursley had that an instant return to Division One would be easy must surely have been blown away following their second defeat in three games.

Town raced into an early lead at Bradley Stoke, but the hosts turned it around either side of half-time and the away side rarely threatened to level matters.

Dursley's opener was something of a gift as a weak goal kick went straight to Zoe Gabb, who fired home from 20 yards with the goalkeeper still out of position.

The visitors came close to a second when Michelle Watson's 25-yard shot on the turn flew just wide, and instead Bradley Stoke equalised from a right-wing corner.

The home side went in front in the opening minute of the second half, and Town struggled to respond as a succession of corner kicks came to nothing.

Chanelle Uzzell sliced wide after breaking into the box, while the best chance came in stoppage-time when Liv Hughes went clear only to fire high and wide.
