The organisers of a big event in the Chipping Sodbury annual calendar have made a call to make it 'even bigger'.

Chipping Sodbury Victorian day has now been running for many years in the town, officially marking the start of Christmas in the area.

The event had stopped happening for a period, before being brought back in 2013.

Steam trains, snow machines and Victorian style food stalls are set up at the event, with an aim to try and create a feeling of what the Sodbury High Street may have been like in the late 1800's/early 1900's.

There is also a helter skelter and fun house that children can play on, with bands and choirs from the area often performing festive tunes.

The Victorian Day Committee is made up of members of community groups in the area, and also by shop owners in the High Street.

Alice Hobbs, Chair of the committee has said that she wants this years event to be the 'biggest yet'.

"The event has been running for more years than we can even remember now," she said.

"The day moved from a Friday evening to a full day on a Saturday 3 years ago and the feedback has been great, each year it keeps getting bigger and better.

"But what we need to keep it exciting is a diverse range of stalls on the day to fill the High Street.

"We are looking for high quality stalls who do something a little bit different, so do you have a unique or fun product to sell?

"If so please email vdstallbookings@gmail.com to apply for a space."

The event this year will be taking place on Saturday, December 1, between 12pm and 8pm.
