DURSLEY Karate Club is celebrating its 45th anniversary this month
Now the longest running martial arts club in Dursley, the group's first sessions were held in North Nibley village hall in 1973.
It later transferred to Dursley, then to Wotton-under-Edge, and finally back to the Roman Catholic hall at Kingshill.
Chief instructor Tim Cale said: "We currently train at the Roman Catholic hall and Courtyard Health and Fitness.
"And we even train outdoors in the summer, in Dursley and Slimbridge."
Tim is now organising a get together for club students past and present.
He said: "The club is celebrating with a small social event and I would like to invite any ex students who trained over the years to come along and share some stories."
The special 45 year reunion is being held at St Dominic's Church Hall on Wednesday, September 26 at St Dominics Church Hall from 8pm. All students are welcome to attend.
The evening is set to include a film show, demonstrations, photos and presentations.
Refreshments will be provided with time for a social afterwards.
