Storm Bronagh caused sparks to fly near Thornbury last night.
Severe winds brought overgrown trees and power lines crashing together, sending sparks shooting up in to the night sky and leaving homes without power.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident in Whitfield at 21.48pm.
They notified Western Power Distribution who arrived at 10.20pm.
The 12 homes directly served by the affected line were left without power for two and a half hours.
Another 118 houses lost power for around 40 mintues.
