TWO fisherman got the fright of their lives after a 'four foot, colossal beast' jumped out of the bushes and ran in front of their car in the Forest of Dean.

Alfie Rock, 16, and his friend Brian were travelling along Redbrook Road in the Wye Valley near Monmouth around 7.45am on Sunday morning when a huge wild boar lept out in front of their vehicle.

Alfie - who captured the video which has gone viral on Facebook - said he initially thought the beast was 'one of the big cats'.

He said: "We first spotted it as it jumped out of the forest, straight in front of the car, it crossed over the road and stopped, I assume because there is a big drop.

"Just as we got closer the boar obviously got scared and made a run back into the forest, leaving me and Brian with only a seven second video to show off what we had come across on our way to our days fishing.

"It was a colossal beast, it had to have been around four foot tall initially I thought it was one of the big cats that are sometimes spotted in England.

"We felt extremely lucky to have spotted it in time! I am still speechless!"
