YOUNGSTERS from a dance school have performed at Disneyland Paris.

Twenty students aged between five and 15 from ROKH Dance went to Paris during the half term break.

Pupils from the school, which has branches in Iron Acton, Wotton Under Edge and Frampton Cotterell, were meant to make the trip in 2020 and 2021 but it was cancelled because of the pandemic.

The trip included a workshop with cast members from Disney, a performance on the main stage at Videopolis in the park and the chance for the students to perform in the pre–parade throughout the park.

Kathryn Hurley, principal of ROKH Dance, said: "The trip had been greatly anticipated and has excelled all expectations.

"The girls have been treated like VIPs with a backstage tour of the Studio Park and workshop where they learnt choreography from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

"The performance on the stage at Videopolis was just magical.

"The girls were outstanding and the head of performing arts at Disney, actually requested to see us after the performance to congratulate us on our professionalism and quality of our performance.

"That was a bit of a ‘pinch me’ moment.

"Our trip culminated in the girls performing in a ‘pre-parade’ throughout the park in front of thousands of international guests. I am incredibly proud of each student. It has been an absolutely magical time, full of special memories."
