WE take a look back at life in the Thornbury Fire brigade.
These pictures were sent by Alan Lewis to Thornbury and District Museum and reproduced here with their kind permission.
They feature Bill Stewart who was a fireman with the Retained National Fire Service in WW2 & a fireman & employee at the Sawmill & Brickworks in Thornbury.
He was also Chief Fire Officer at Oldbury Power station.
