The Chipping Sodbury Festival 2008 gets underway today and here is a full programme of events to cover the festival, which runs until June 22.
FRIDAY June 13, 9.20am Explorer Dome Science Workshop, for pupils from local schools. Town Hall. Sponsored by Dodington Parish Council. 7.30pm 'Have you had it long, Madam?' (For antiques fans, tales from roadshows) Hilary Kay and Paul Atterbury. Town Hall, Tickets £15.
Saturday: June 14, 10am-4pm Open Day at Hanson's Entry by ticket only with allocated times. Tickets in advance from Chipping Sodbury Tourist Information Centre and Farrago £3 and accompanied children £1 (15 and under) car parking facilities at Hanson's offices. 2pm Tea Dance organised by Belinda Orford, Town Hall, Tickets £3 including Tea/Coffee and biscuits. Sponsored by Chipping Sodbury Post office. 8pm Brass Band Concert, Sponsored by A.E. Wilcox and Sons and Montague Harris, Town Hall, Tickets £10.
Sunday: June 15, 9.30am Festival Service with Chipping Sodbury School Orchestra St John's Parish Church, Wickwar Road, Chipping Sodbury. 10.45 - 11.45 Festival Coffee/Sherry Reception, Charter Suite, Town Hall Assisted by Air Training Corps. 2pm Car Treasure Hunt Organised by the Lions Club Meet at the car Park, Wickwar Road Entry £3 per car. 2.30pm Guided Walk Organised by the Historical Society Meet at the Clock Tower Free of charge.
