TRIBUTES have started to pour in to the victim of Wednesday evening's fatal crash in Yate.

Dozens of warm comments have been posted in Spotted in Yate 2.0 community Facebook group. 

The victim was described by one person as a 'bubbly lady with a big smile'. 

Another said she would be 'forever in their hearts', while another said she was always 'always smiling and being polite'.  

"This is such a sad loss," said another. 

Yate mayor Cheryl Kirby also released a statement saying: "I express my condolences on behalf of the town council and the whole community over the terrible incident in Yate.

"We share feelings of sorrow and shock that a tragedy has occurred in our town and extend our thoughts, at this dreadful time, to family and friends of everyone involved in the incident."

Emergency services were called to Kennedy Way at 5.40pm on Wednesday, March 29, following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

Despite the efforts of officers and paramedics, a woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people were arrested in connection with the incident. 

Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a blue Ford driving in the area.
