POLICE are appealing for information after a convicted rapist failed to appear in court for sentencing.
Wanted man, Watir Ali from Bristol, is wanted on a warrant issued by Bristol Crown Court after failing to appear on Wednesday, June 7.
Ali, aged 47, had previously been convicted of rape and on Wednesday he was sentenced in his absence to eight years in prison.
Ali is described as a south Asian man, 5ft 6ins tall and slim, with short dark hair and brown eyes.
The last confirmed contact with him was in Bristol on Tuesday 30 May.
Police say to ring 999 if you know where he is now, and give the reference 5223133652.
If you have any other information which could help officers to locate him, call 101 and give the same reference.
