A WOMAN driving a BMW who was caught running a red light near Filton must pay £400. 

Melissa Chamberlain, aged 32, of Filwood Gardens, Bristol, pleaded guilty to the traffic offence at Bath Magistrates’ on August 17. 

She initially pleaded not guilty to the offence. 

She was caught going through a red light at temporary traffic lights in B4468 Kellaway Road, Bristol near Filton on February 19. 

Chamberlain was caught on dashcam footage by a member of the public which led to an investigation by Avon and Somerset Police. 

Chamberlain was fined £207, must pay a victim surcharge of £83 plus £110 in costs  - a total of £400 which must be paid in full by September 14. 

She also received three points on her driving licence.
