Police appeal after unprovoked attack

POLICE are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man was assaulted in an unprovoked attack.

It happened on Sunday, June 29 at 1.30am outside the Boot pub in Chipping Sodbury.

The man was sat on a bench when a white van pulled up and the driver approached him with a wooden bat.

He chased the man before striking him several times with the bat.

Although the man was not seriously injured he was left distressed following the incident. The victim was unable to describe the offender or vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in Horse Street.
