Officers use flower power to raise money for charity

POLICE officers working at the Glastonbury Festival wore sunflowers in their helmets to help raise money and awareness for a Somerset charity.

PCs Nick Hoon and Sean Skelhorn and Sergeant Craig Ogborne, all usually based at stations in South Gloucestershire, wore the yellow flowers to help the St Margaret's Somerset Hospice charity.

PS Ogborne said: "We were among officers from across the force involved in the policing operation at Glastonbury.

"We were delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile charity by encouraging people to make donations - and our pictures made the national media!

"We will now be posting our sunflowers for sale on Ebay, and donating any money we raise to the charity."

St Margaret's Somerset Hospice runs centres in Taunton and Yeovil providing specialist palliative and respite care as well as support and advice for people with terminal or life-threatening illnesses.
