A PUB near Thornbury has been named as a finalist in a national award to celebrate diverse talent in the hospitality industry.
The White Horse at Buckover located along the A38 has been nominated as pub of the year in the Be Inclusive Hospitality awards.
The pub - which is run by Rumit and Tosh Lakhani - serves homemade authentic Indian curries as well as traditional English dishes from fish and chips and Sunday roasts.
Organisers say the awards - which are in its second year - are designed to shine a light on exceptional businesses and individuals from minority backgrounds in hospitality.
For the award, The White Horse is up against three other pubs and bars including The Village People, Trailer Happiness and Diogenes the Dog which are all based in London.
The winners of the BIH Spotlight Awards will be announced at an awards ceremony in London taking place on Monday, October 16.
Founder of Be Inclusive Hospitality, Lorraine Copes, said: “Following the success of our very first BIH Spotlight Awards last year, we’re really looking forward to celebrating more of our industry's unsung talent.
“We’re over the moon with the number of applications we’ve received this year and can’t wait to raise a glass to all our finalists, alongside our incredible judging panel, at our awards ceremony.”
There are 14 other categories including Chef of the Year, best in Caribbean food, African food, South Asian food, East & Southeast Asian food and Middle Eastern food.
Meanwhile, this year's judging panel includes Culinary Director of Rare Restaurants, Mike Reid and Co-founder of Tayer & Elementary, Monica Berg.
