A MUCH-loved free music event is due to return to Dursley this week. 

Dursley After Hours is set to return to the marketplace on Friday, April 26. 

Local band Welcome Parrots will be playing a mix of folk, Americana and pop from 7pm to 9pm. 

Other similar events are taking place on May 24, June 28, July 26, August 23 and September 27. 

The event has been organised by Danae Savvidou, Wendy Thomas, Tom Meadowcroft, Doina Cornell and Dursley mayor Symon Ackroyd. 

Chair organiser Danae Savvidou said: “We’re really excited to be bringing back this family friendly event.

“It’s really important to make music accessible for all residents of Dursley. It’s wonderful to watch residents of all ages enjoying themselves.”

Dursley County Councillor Wendy Thomas said: “We’re really grateful for the grant from Dursley Town Council which has enabled us to host an extra event this year.

“We have a fabulous variety of music acts booked this year!”
