A CHARITY in the district is looking for families to adopt three of their marvellous moggies.

Stroud Cats Protection is appealing for pet lovers to open their homes to three of their senior felines.

Although these cats are being spoiled rotten by their fosterers, there’s “no place like home” and are currently searching for their new forever homes.

Volunteers say that when it comes to rehoming, older cats are often overlooked in favour of younger cats.

Experienced fosterer Helen Judge says: “It’s a shame that older cats stay with us longer as they have so much personality to offer.

“Their characters are fully formed and they’re less likely to scale the curtains or go out all night adventuring!”

These are their senior cats still waiting for a home:

CJ aged 13 is up for adoption

A spokesperson said: “CJ is 13 years young, handsome and playful, he loves to go out and enjoys sunning himself in the garden.

“He loves a cuddle and has been missing his previous owner who sadly passed away.

“All he wants is a place to call home and a few home comforts.

“As can be common in older felines, CJ needs a special diet but don’t be put off as these foods are readily available and will keep him in good working order.

Cosmo (Mo) aged 9 is up for adoption

The spokesperson added: “And if our handsome gent doesn’t appeal, why not consider cuddly Cosmo, she is a fluffy delight and at almost 9 years young, loves to sit and spend time with you.

“In fact, she prefers to spend more time indoors than out and is happy to make your house her home.

“She tolerates being brushed to keep her fluffy coat looking its best, and in fact only recently had it professionally groomed!

“Cosmo would thrive in a 'grown up' home that is not too noisy.

“She will need access to a safe outdoor space preferably with a cat flap to make it easy to nip back in doors when she's had enough of being outside!”

Maverick aged 7 is up for adoption

The spokesperson continued: “Or perhaps marvellous Maverick. Huge and a mere 7 years young!

“Maverick’s two favourite things are fussing & food in no particular order!

“Being a bit of a foodie, you will need to keep an eye on his weight & make sure that treats are rationed, beware it’s hard to resist his charm!

“Maverick has really come out of his shell lately and would be a fabulous addition to any home!”
