AN INDEPENDENT investigation has been launched into the potential of a Severn barrage.
The inquiry will be led by Northavon MP Steve Webb, local councillors and their Welsh counterparts, who are not happy with the current government-led feasibility study into such a scheme.
The local group has been meeting informally over the last few months and recently decided to establish a formal inquiry into the different options for Severn tidal power.
