A MOTORCYCLIST from Berkeley is in hospital after a two-vehicle collision in Stonehouse left him with life-changing injuries.
The accident, between a white Kawasaki motorcycle and a grey Honda estate, occurred on the A419, just outside the gates of Wycliffe College, at about 10pm last Friday evening.
The motorcyclist, a 37-year-old man, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital but was later transferred to Frenchay Hospital due to the serious nature of his injuries.
The driver of the Honda, a 58-year-old man from Cheltenham, was uninjured.
A police spokesman said: "The motorcyclist has now woken up and has his family with him.
"These are very serious injuries and he still needs help with his breathing, but at least he is now conscious and aware of his surroundings."
Anybody who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to police is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 0845 090 1234, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident 575 of September 12.
