Pupils make the most of modern technology

MARLWOOD School pupils now have state-of-the-art equipment at their fingertips.

The Alveston school has just unveiled its newly refurbished library, now to be called a Learning Resource Centre.

The centre is equipped with 16 computers, a photocopier and currently has 8,000 catalogued books.

Despite a growing trend towards online resources, Marlwood School has promised to continue to develop particular areas with hard copy materials.

A spokesman for the school said: "It is proving a very popular place to be before and after school, at break and lunchtime. Students are enjoying the bright, fresh environment, the new books and banks of computers, which have recently been installed."
