THE owner of a hotel in Chipping Sodbury has launched a campaign to get more people involved in town affairs.
Mark Lloyd, who runs Rounceval House Hotel, is hoping his first newsletter will encourage residents and businesses to press for road safety improvements and improved facilities.
Mr Lloyd said: "I intend to deliver to it to all the households and businesses along the main streets of Chipping Sodbury.
"All of the issues mentioned have been covered before but I feel that they need reinforcing."
Rounceval News contains historical information about Chipping Sodbury as well as details about new schemes in the town including the campaign to reinstate a Chamber of Commerce.
It also raises awareness of the Blue Plaque scheme and the Gazette’s Sodbury Calendar competition, to find 12 photographs of Chipping Sodbury for a 2010 calendar. Recent campaigns to lower the speed limit through the High Street to 20mph and to pedestrianise parts of Hounds Road are also included.
Mr Lloyd, who only moved to Chipping Sodbury three years ago, has already successfully campaigned for improved signage to the historic market town from the A46.
