GLOUCESTERSHIRE police are hoping to connect with new audiences following the launch of their own Facebook page.
The constabulary now has its own page on the popular social-networking site where visitors can access the latest police news, appeals and information on events and initiatives in their area.
Users will also be able to view films of the work their police do and link to their local policing teams and crime statistics.
Ivor Twydell, assistant Chief Constable, said: "Social media is now such a vital part of everyday life, joining Facebook and using its power to connect with the people of Gloucestershire made total sense."
To visit the page you need to sign up to Facebook and search for Gloucestershire Constabulary.
Members of the public can sign up to become a fan of the organisation and choose to receive updates from Gloucestershire Constabulary on their own Facebook pages.
