Next year's Dursley calendar needs local photos

BUDDING photographers are being reminded to keep hold of their best shots to appear in a 2011 calendar.

This year’s Dursley calendar has sold well and now the Dursley Town Trust want to encourage people to start collecting their best photos throughout the seasons.

The calendars help raise funds for the trust, which maintains the town hall.

Mike Doughty, trust chairman, said: ""We would like to thank everyone who supported us by buying a calendar.

"Selling the calendars is an important fund-raiser for the trust and without people’s support we wouldn’t be able to do our work of protecting and maintaining Dursley’s Town Hall and Market Place."

The trust is already thinking ahead to next year’s calendar and is again asking for local people to submit their photos of the town.

"We’d like to invite people to send in photos, now and throughout the year, for us to use in the 2011 calendar," said Mr Doughty.

"We won’t be able to use them all, as we only need 13 or 14 photos, - but we’ll choose the best and then hold an exhibition of all the photos in the Town Hall at the end of the year."

The Trust would like all the photos to feature recognisable areas of Dursley, Cam or surrounding countryside - reflecting the different months and seasons of the year.

Photos can be sent by e-mail to hilary@fowlesfamily.freeserve.co.uk with the name and address of the sender.
