DESPITE a torrential downpour on Saturday, spirits could not be dampened at the summer fair at Draycott Sheltered Housing in Cam. The fair raised a total of £633 - the highest amount raised by the annual event so far.
The money will go to the social fund, which will pay for day trips, the Christmas lunch and other items needed at the unit.
Events at the fair included a tombola, raffle, cream teas, spin the wheel, name the rabbit and a barbecue.
"It went very well except for the weather," said scheme manager June Baker.
"The fair was well attended and everybody who did come had a good time and enjoyed it. It is the most money we have ever raised so we are really pleased about that.
"I would like to thank everybody helped and supported the event and the local businesses, who were very generous in giving raffle prizes."
