IT may have been 48 days since Jane Couch won her latest two world title belts, but the champion boxer has only just got her hands on them this week.

It was on Saturday, June 12, in Foxwood's Casino, Connecticut, that Couch enhanced her stock in the boxing world by winning two more title belts.

After ten gruelling rounds against Jaime Clampitt, a Canadian fighter based in America and the holder of the IWBF and NABA titles, Couch gave her best-ever exhibition of non-stop box-fighting to snatch a close decision and the two belts from the home boxer.

However, there was to be a rude awakening for the Spaniorum Farm Gym fighter as she celebrated with her new belts.

As an excited Couch changed in the dressing room, both the belts and Clampitt quickly disappeared, with a fight promoter claiming that the belts belonged to the Canadian and that she would have to wait for her ones to be sent on.

Couch, who trains at the Compton Greenfield-based Spaniorum set-up, was unimpressed with the decision.

A few hours later, the new double world champion was flying home to England, convinced that she would never see the belts that she had won.

At the weekend, 48 days later and after many email reminders, both belts finally arrived at Spaniorum Farm Gym, and were added to the impressive Couch collection of six world title belts.
