Jane Couch gave possibly the best performance of her boxing career when she withstood the power of Jaime 'The Hurricane' Clampitt on Saturday.

Couch attacked with her own brand of whirlwind combination punches and jabs to secure a unanimous points decision over the Canadian boxer, now based in Rhode Island, Connecticut.

In a world title fight for the major IWBF title and the lesser NABAW belt, Spaniorum Farm boxer Couch took the fight to the reigning champion.

Throwing multiple combinations, she frequently scored with solid right hand blows to Clampitt's head as the hometown fighter threw scathing shots to Couch's body.

As each round went by the classier skills of the experienced Couch gradually built up a slender lead over the tough former gymnast.

Vinny Paz, five times world champion, commentating for CN8 television in a live broadcast expected to be viewed by 22 million people, expressed surprise at the workrate produced by Couch, stating later in the fight: "Jane Couch is a machine! Can she keep this pace up?" She did. There was no slowing of pace from either boxer until the final bell.

The unanimous decision by the three judges was given an enthusiastic reception by the large crowd, even though their local fighter had failed to match the fitness and skills of the British opponent.

Directly after the result was announced, fight promoter Jimmy Burchfield asked Couch's manager, Tex Woodward, if he would consider a rematch. The answer was easy enough: "Yes please."

A visit to Foxwood's Casino, the largest in the world, is a memorable experience, especially when you leave holding two world title belts.
