Thornbury police arrest man after finding suspected drugs

THORNBURY police arrested a man after finding a quantity of suspected drugs in his car.

As part of Relentless: keeping you safe this summer, patrolling officers stopped and checked the car in Gillingstool just after midnight on Sunday, July 25 and found a quantity of white powder.

A 35-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug and has been released on conditional police bail pending the results of forensic tests.

Neighbourhood PC Neil Whyman said: "We are committed to tackling drug dealing and the associated crime that can impact on our communities. We rely on information from the public to help us keep the Thornbury area safe from drug crime."
