OVER 90 per cent of pupils achieved five A* to C grades in their GCSE’s at Katharine Lady Berkeley’s School this year.
It is the best results ever for the school in Wotton, with 76 per cent achieving five A*-C grades including English and maths.
Among the top achievers were Grace Bailey, 16, from Hillesley with eight A* grades and four As, Hannah Brown, 16 from Kingswood with six A* grades, four As and two Bs and Joe Cridge, 16, from Wickwar who achieved 11 A* grades and one A.
Emily Pape, 16, from Uley, said she was "in complete shock" after finding out she had eight A grades, one A* and two Bs. "I didn’t think I was going to do that well. I am really pleased," she said.
Sarah Appleton, 16, from Yate, who gained 11 A* grades and one A, said: "I am really pleased. I didn’t expect these grades, it’s pretty amazing." She is hoping to go on and study languages.
