STRONG GCSE results were celebrated at Chipping Sodbury School.

Head teacher Gareth Millington he was very pleased with the improving results at the school, after 70 per cent of the pupils gaied five or more GCSEs grade A*-C. Just over 50 per cent of students achieved five GCSE grades A*-C including English and maths.

"I am very pleased with today’s results which reflect the good progress made by this year’s students," said Mr Millington.

"I want to congratulate students and staff on their hard work over the past 12 months particularly with the scale of improvement in students’ results in English and maths. We look forward to many of our students continuing their success with us as they join our thriving sixth form."

He added: "Although the results have improved dramatically, we still have a long way to go and as an ambitious school, we will work tirelessly to ensure all of our students achieve to the best of their ability and reach their full potential."
