MEMBERS of the public are invited to attend a formal presentation on plans to turn Thornbury’s Armstrong Hall into a multi-million pound community complex next month.
The open meeting will be held at the Cossham Hall on Thursday, December 8 and offer locals the opportunity to ask Arts and Community in Thornbury (ACT) questions about any aspect of the project.
The proposal received a mix reception from town councillors when ACT chairman Chris Roberts first presented his feasibility study in October.
The organisation is however hoping to rally the community’s support and is already due to discuss the ambitious redevelopment with the Hall’s user groups tonight (Thursday, November 17).
The new state-of-the-art venue would include a 500-seat theatre space and a cinema.
ACT co-founder Lyn Bedford said: "This is an opportunity to discover exactly what ACT hopes to achieve and what progress has been made so far.
"We want to make this area even more popular and vibrant than it is.
"Many frequently asked questions will be answered, so if you have any concerns or queries and would like to know more, do come along."
The meeting will start at 7.30pm.
