A LIST of candidates for next month’s local elections at Stroud District Council has been announced.

On Thursday, May 3 a third of the council’s seats will be up for election including Berkeley, Dursley, Kingswood, and Wotton-Under-Edge.

There will also be a by-election for the Coaley and Uley ward after the resignation of Cllr Graham Trave, and a seat in the Severn ward is up for election to replace Cllr Norman Smith who died suddenly just before Christmas.

The deadline for registering to vote is 5pm next Wednesday, April 18. Residents can request a registration form by calling the Stroud District Council elections office, during office hours, on 01453 754886 or by printing off a registration form at www.stroud.gov.uk/elections The deadline for postal vote applications, or to amend a postal vote, is 5pm on Wednesday, April 18. Postal vote papers will be sent out on Monday, April 23.

The deadline to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday, April 25.
