COMMUNITY radio station Thornbury FM has more than 50 presenters lined up to steer it through its next four week broadcast starting next Monday on the station's usual frequency of 87.7 FM.

"We'll be delivering an even greater variety of programmes," said station chairman Thornbury vicar the Rev David Primrose.

"With youngsters from primary and secondary schools and adults from every decade there will be something for everyone."

Musical offerings will include classical, pop, blues, jazz, metal, rock 'n' roll, soul, dance, retro, charts, movies, secular and sacred- and local artists will be featured.

The programme topics will range from recycling and energy conservation (courtesy of local group Sustainable Thornbury) to health, council matters, sports, gardening, food, schools.

"Plus, of course, there will be the more general programmes with lots of studio guests to share their stories," said Mr Primrose.

The first two weeks are sponsored by Oldbury Power Station and Bristol Care Homes, and 50 local companies have scheduled advertisements.
