NEWARK Park in Wotton-under-Edge is celebrating the start of spring and the Easter holidays with a brand new outdoors activity for visitors.

Geocaching, or treasure hunting with GPS devices, is an innovative new approach to the traditional Easter activity for walkers and families alike, provides a great excuse to get out and enjoy the National Trust estate.

There will be nine “caches” for people to discover with the GPS devices, available at the park, with the hunt taking trekkers through many of Newark’s landmarks, including the fresh wild garlic growing within the estate.

Recipe leaflets will also be available to encourage visitors to cook up something delicious when they get home.

There are also set to be a range of school holiday events, including an Edwardian day on Sunday, April and the annual Cadbury’s Easter Egg Trail from Friday, April 18 until April 21 from 11am to 4pm.

There are also new features for visitors inside the mansion itself, with an art exhibition, indoor family trail and a new dressing up rail.
