DRAGONS will bring the fantastical to life at Berkeley Castle this Easter weekend.

The castle has recently reopened after its closure during the winter months and is offering a range of dragon-themed events for young and old alike this weekend.

From Friday, April 18 to Monday, April 21, there will be dragon-themed art and craft activities on offer.

Children will also have the chance to explore the medieval fortress and castle grounds as they hunt for dragon eggs around the estate.

There will be a Chinese dragon parade around the gardens on Sunday and Monday.

Charles Berkeley said the team was excited to have reopened for the new season after lengthy preparations.

He said: “The team here at Berkeley Castle have worked wonders over the winter period to ensure our wonderful treasures, artefacts and exhibits are at their best for visitors to enjoy once again from April.

“The unprecedented amount of rain we have endured has taken its toll on some parts of the castle but remedial repair work has been carried out and we are now ready for visitors and families to experience a little of medieval England.”

The rest of the castle’s attractions will also be open, from the medieval dungeon where King Edward II was notoriously kept through to the popular Butterfly House filled with beautiful insects.

All dragon activities are included in the castle entrance. For more information, call 01453 810303 or visit www.berkeley-castle.com
