A MAN has offered a cash reward to anybody who supplies him with information that leads to the prosecution of vandals.

Father of two, Simon Hacker, of Symn Lane, in Wotton-under-Edge, is tired of the way certain young people treat the play area near his home.

A recent incident of criminal damage was the final straw and Mr Hacker has offered £50 to whoever helps find the perpetrators.

Wotton Town Council faced a repairs bill of £250 after vandals slashed the soft-play surface of the town's Symn Lane Play area.

The site, next door to the Blue Coat School, is partially monitored by CCTV, but it is unclear if evidence of the attack on Sunday evening was recorded.

"As a parent who uses the site, I had to explain to my distressed three-year-old why she couldn't use the swings," said Mr Hacker.

"We are sick of the way this place is being treated by a gang of kids, many of whom used to be pupils at Blue Coat and know it's a precious facility for younger children. They clearly need a place to gather, but this criminal damage suggests it should be a no-go area at night."

Mr Hacker says he is offering a £50 cash reward to anyone who can provide information leading to a prosecution. He can be contacted on 07702 024914.
