A PETROL station in Dursley won a prestigious award for the quality of its forecourt.

Wild Goose Garage, in Kingshill Road, Dursley, has won ‘Best Pace Forecourt’ in the 2014 SuperStation Awards.

Hosted by Certas Energy and open to around 1,200 independent petrol retailers in the UK, SuperStation has been developed to recognise and reward the highest standards in forecourt retailing.

Each forecourt is assessed by a panel of industry specialists who consider forecourt appearance, product offering, customer service and innovation in business strategy.

Forecourt Manager at the garage Rachael King is delighted with the result.

She said: “We are really, really pleased to receive this stamp of approval. It takes a lot of hard work from the team to maintain such high standards.

“We are a hub for the community and our customers will be just as excited for us; many knew we were nominated and, just like all of us on the forecourt, have been eagerly awaiting the outcome.”

The site pumps four million litres a year, encourages the use of fuel and loyalty cards and sets high standards in customer service.

Certas Energy Retail Director Ramsay MacDonald said: “To win a SuperStation award is a mark of quality and professionalism. This is the third year of the Awards, which are designed to improve the standards of petrol forecourts throughout the UK.

“The competition is intense and there is a tough selection process which only goes to show that Wild Goose Garage is setting the highest possible industry standards.”

The ‘Best Pace Forecourt’ category was sponsored by industry supplier Central Maintenance Solutions (CMS). Established in 2008, its offering includes the manufacture, installation and maintenance of all types of signage, rebranding, building and forecourt maintenance, accident damage repair services and insurance liaison.

The award ceremony took place at The Belfry Golf and Leisure Resort, in Sutton Coldfield, on Thursday, October 9.
