A SEVEN year old girl has raised over £500 for charity after cutting off seven inches of her hair.

Chloe cut off her long locks at Reflections in Yate on Monday morning in aid of The Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides real-hair wigs for boys and girls across the UK and Ireland who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

Chloe lives in Yate and has raised £511 so far through her ‘Big Snip’ date and hopes more people donate to the worthy cause. She was inspired to raise money when a friend of the family’s daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Her mum, Sarah Howe, who also cut off seven inches of her own hair for charity, said: “Chloe’s really happy with what she’s doing. We are amazed by the amount we have raised, we were not expecting to raise that much.

“Her friends are all really happy she’s done it. I don’t think they expected her to go through with it. She’s always wanted it to grow out. I tried to talk her out for it for about two months but she went through with it. I am really proud.”

The Little Princess Trust works with specialist suppliers and experienced hairdressers who offer wigs tailored to the child’s needs for the duration of their cancer treatment. The charity also assists children with alopecia.
