POLICE are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a PCSO was injured whilst on traffic duty at last weekend’s Stroud half-marathon.

The incident happened at the Horsetrough roundabout on the A419 between Stroud and Stonehouse at around 11.50am on Sunday, October 26.

The vehicle then drove off towards Stroud along the Ebley bypass.

The officer was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with shoulder injuries.

The vehicle involved in the collision is described as a light green Volkswagen Polo driven by a white middle-aged man.

There was nobody else in the vehicle and no one else was injured in the incident.

Sergeant Trevor Moss said “The officer involved sustained quite nasty injuries as a result of this, so we would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.

"We would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have been driving a car fitting the description at that time.

“We’re not suggesting that this was a deliberate act, however we do need to establish exactly what happened, which is why it is important that anyone who may have witnessed the incident comes forward and calls us on 101.”

Anyone who may have any information on this incident should call Gloucestershire Police quoting incident number 198 of October 26.
