A RANGE of festive events and activities will take place in Gloucestershire libraries this Christmas.

Pop along to your local library to stock up on festive reading material, renew your books or attend one of the many fun events.

There are lots of free fun activities for all the family from crafts at Up Hatherley and Newent to French toddler time at Hesters Way.

Dursley Library will host a Christmas crafts drop-in session for families between 10.30 and 11.30am on Tuesday, December 23.

The libraries also have children’s books to borrow, and are offering a ‘Reading Passport’ to adults, which contains great reading suggestions. Readers are invited to review three books for a chance to win £150 worth of reading material.

Libraries across the county are free to join and you can take out up to 20 books on one ticket..

Cabinet member for libraries at Gloucestershire County Council Cllr Andrew Gravells said: “Libraries are a great place for everyone, young and old, to share books and reading plus join in with the many story-times and events happening during the holidays”
