A DAY for children at a church in North Nibley went down a treat with the youngsters - and saw them celebrating the planet.

Children aged two to 10 and their parents attended North Nibley Chapel's Messy Church event on Saturday, January 17.

The theme of the day was Love your World, and they had the opportunity to make cakes, create head dresses with leaves and even construct their own bugs.

The secretary of the chapel Sue Convery said: "The atmosphere at the Messy Church events is absolutely fantastic.

"Everybody was having fun and everyone had a lovely time. It's always received really well. They're brilliant."

The chapel at North Nibley is now seeking more use from the community, offering a wide range of non-church related activities like table tennis and a cafe on Thursday mornings.

Messy Church is a nation wide project that sees children attending their local churches for days jam-packed with activities.

North Nibley have their Messy Chuch day every two months on the third Saturday of the month from 10am to 12pm.
