Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service a man has been charged with the murder of 19-year-old Zac Evans in Tuffley on Saturday.

Ewen Anthony Reynolds, 44, of Foley Close, Tuffley, will appear before magistrates in Cheltenham this morning charged with the murder of Mr Evans and attempted murder in relation to an assault on a second man during the same incident.

Mr Evans died following the incident outside The Pike and Musket pub in Windsor Drive, Tuffley, shortly before 12.40am on Saturday, January 24.

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Porter said: "Although a man has now been charged the investigation is still in its early stages and I continue to appeal to anyone with information to call Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 12 of January 24.

"Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk.

"Once again, I can reassure people that we do not believe the motive for this murder to be linked to terrorism."
