A NATIONAL Trust site near Wotton-under-Edge is hosting two unique art exhibitions this Spring.

Newark Park is currently displaying work by local artist Rosie Mack and will go on to present a decorative wallpaper exhibition curated by style writer Charlotte Abrahams.

Both exhibitions are appearing as part of the Stroud International Textiles select festival.

‘Timeless Sanctuaries’ by Rosie Mack is an exhibition inspired by local Cotswold landscapes, as well as the South West coast line.

Rosie paints her landscapes directly onto reclaimed wood, bringing the nature of the subject directly in to the painting itself.

In contrast the second exhibition, ‘Pasting the walls – a celebration of contemporary wallpaper’ highlights the recent revival of contemporary design wallpaper in domestic homes.

This display will feature a wide variety of examples highlighting the intricate detail and beauty that goes into these wall decorations.

Organiser of the festival Lizzi Walton said: “Set in the magnificent surroundings of Newark Park, ‘Pasting the Walls’ promises to be a visual delight that demonstrates the innovation and artistry of contemporary wallpaper.”

‘Timeless Sanctuaries’ opened on March 25 and will run until April 26, from Wednesdays to Sundays, 11am to 5pm. ‘Pasting the Walls’ is open from April 29 until May 31, from Wednesdays to Sundays, from 11am to 5pm.
