POLICE are seeking information about an assault that took place in Gloucester Park on 15 April, in which the victim’s jaw was broken in two places.

The victim was walking through Gloucester Park from Brunswick Square shortly after 8 pm, and as he walked past the aviary he observed a group of some six black males, one of whom spoke to him.

The victim, 28 and from Gloucester, ignored them and carried on walking, and when near the bandstand was then struck from behind causing him to fall to the floor. He was then kicked on the body. Although bleeding, he managed to get up and walk out of the park.

The victim did not see who hit him he believes it was one of the males whom he passed. Nothing was stolen. He was taken by ambulance to GRH where a broken jaw was confirmed.
