A 74-YEAR-OLD man in Cam awoke to find a burglar raiding his bedroom.

Police from Dursley are appealing for information after a the pensioner woke to find a burglar in his room on the night of Friday, April 17. He got up and challenged the intruder who subsequently fled the scene.

The thief had gained entry to the four-bedroom detached house by breaking a small hole in a pane of glass in the conservatory and opening the lever-lock mechanism of the window.

All but one bedroom and the bathroom of the house had been entered by the burglar and several items were taken, including a wallet containing bank cards; a travel wallet containing money, a passport and a driving licence; a mobile phone and three watches.

The double garage at the side of the house was also broken into and a Jaguar XF and BMW Z4 had been entered but nothing taken from within.

The victim was unable to give a description of the burglar other than that he was slim and about 5ft 10ins tall.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 28 of April 18.
