EMERGENCY teams responding to a suspected arson in Cam on Friday found equipment that could be used to cultivate cannabis.
The fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately in a block of flats in Leaside Close, caused serious damage to several floors of the building.
During the evacuation police and firefighters discovered within one of the premises some equipment that could be used for the cultivation of cannabis on a small scale.
A 32-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of permitting the use of premises for supply of cannabis and possession of cannabis or cannabis resin and has been bailed pending further enquiries until June 17.
Fire investigators have confirmed the source of the fire is in no way connected to the equipment seized by Police, and these are being treated as two separate incidents.
Anyone with information in relation to the arson should call police on 101 quoting Incident 486 of 17 April.
