A 70-year-old pedestrian is being treated in hospital for life-threatening injuries after being in collision with a lorry on the A419 Bristol Road in Stonehouse.
Police were called to the incident, outside the Stonehouse Court Hotel, at about 10am this morning (Tuesday, April 21).
The air ambulance attended the scene, but the man - who is local to the area - was taken by road to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for treatment to severe head injuries.
The road was closed between the Oldends Lane roundabout and the Horsetrough roundabout for about three hours.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting incident 95 of today (21 April 2015).
